I couldn’t stay behind the gate quietly all the time, but there wasn’t anything bad going on there. Still (at least) can’t happen that they are in the same space when Sylvi practices, Morris is so enthusiastic to participate, but maybe one day… And of course Morris also got to do the basic things in his turn.

Morris is staying overnight in care for the first time this week. The caretaker is very reliable and both dogs really like her, but why oh why is it still so hard to leave them in care 🙄 I can already see myself asking about the trip between home, how’s it going 😅

Training a Mudi is hard. No other way to say it!

Nikko is very alert. And anything exciting or scary gets a bark or many many barks if he goes over threshold, which is easy. He has many different “tones” of bark and I’m now starting to be able to understand his emotions based on the noise.

This has definitely been an extremely challenging experience and there are moments when I’m thinking, why did I do this to myself. But I am learning a ton, a ton that I wish I had known when Luna was a puppy, as she was definitely similar although not quite as bad and not nearly as loud.

The other side of it is, when he’s good, he’s the perfect dog. Perfect when he understands his environment and he’s comfortable. So we keep adding new environments and increasing the challenges at the current ones.

So while it’s super challenging, and frustrating. The lessons are learning together are worth it. It’s so rewarding when something clicks and he’s happy and comfortable. Cant wait to see what the future brings.

My aim is definitely an all around farm dog and travel partner but I love agility and definitely think he has interest in scent detection as well.
